Logo Design, Invitation, Tickets, Brochure, Miscellaneous Collateral 

ASSIGNMENT: Design logo for contemporary art preservation conference. Design all supporting materials.
CHALLENGE: Employ images and materials that embodied the theme of preservation while conveying a contemporary sensibility.
SOLUTION: Logo that depicted an eye on time. Paper that was tactile, uncoated and covered with metallic inks. Use of color to allow for immediate visual differentiates between events, and days.

JWT Brochure 2015

JWT Brochure 2015

Assignment: Create a brochure series for a Jewish woman’s theatre company.

Challenge: Convey a multi-cultural, 21st century vibe that overcomes audience preconceptions of a staid, traditional, boring and overly ethnic experience.

Solution: Art direct the creation of images that are modern and visually arresting, assuring the audience that they are not going to see something, “old-fashioned,” and traditional. Chose a contemporary font for the Hebrew as well as the English. Use bold colors behind the images. Create an over all impression that the company is, “now, off-beat, and energetic.”

Human Rights Watch Invitation

Human Rights Watch Invitation

Challenge: Design an invitation for a lecture and photo exhibit, about child slave labor that informed the audience they were being invited to a dynamic evening that would engage all of their senses, not a pedantic lecture.

Solution: Curate images from Marcus Blaesdale’s photo series that screamed, action, motion and scope. At the same time, by making the word GOLD graphically pop out from the invitation create curiosity in the audience’s minds about what they would be learning

Pathology Annual Report 2014

Assignment: Design an annual report that draws more attention than the groundbreaking 2013 report.

Challenge: Build on the success of the 2013 Annual Report making the 2014 Report even more user friendly.

Solution: Budget was found to hire illustrator Dung Hoang, I conceptualized and art directed a cover. Inside I continued the use of images and colorized different details from Dung’s cover illustration to direct the reader through the flow of information. I worked with UCLA to create infographs to replace the charts and graphs that they had previously used to convey statistical information.

Assignment: Design an annual report that continues the branding which I developed in 2013.

Challenge: Build on the success of the 2014 Annual Report but still make it feel fresh and new.

Solution: I conceptualized and art directed a cover by hiring an artist with a very different style of illustration that would provide variety and allow me to make the 2015 report distinct while still feeling connected to last years. Inside I continued the use of images and colorized different details from Sandra’s cover illustration to direct the reader through the flow of information.

LA WOMEN'S COLLECTIVE

LA WOMEN'S COLLECTIVE

Assignment: Design an invitation that for LAWC's Fundraising event entitled "Secure the Heartland". The main purpose for this event was to raise money for Democratic Senators Tammy Baldwin, Amy Klobuchar, and Heidi Heitkamp.

Challenge: Create an e-vite that will feel young and fresh to the younger audience of LAWC. Without being too light hearted, I wanted to strike a balance and create a fun illustration that was a little playful.

Solution: The event was a great success.
